We flew back to North America from Inverness on August 12. We got to the airport early in Inverness and spent some time in the smallest airport lounge I've ever seen! The employees were very friendly, helped with anything we needed, and even put on a little show (unintentionally) by trying to fix the broken coffee machine while we were there. It was lovely. Our flight routed through Amsterdam and we were the only 2 passengers seated in business class. It was a quick flight and we spent a bit of time in the same lounge we visited on the way to Europe at the end of June. It was surreal to be back after over a month. Our flight to Toronto was uneventful, which was great. I read a book, Brennan watched several movies, and we got 2 more Dutch Delft houses! KLM is a great airline and we both said we would fly it again. Our time in Toronto was pretty short, with 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency (which we would not recommend). I did some research and figured out that we could get to Niagara Falls on a train from central Toronto. It was a long, bumpy train ride, but the view at the falls was beautiful! I've heard people say "The Canadian side of Niagara is much better than the U.S. side" and I thought they were exaggerating. It's a waterfall....how can it be different on either side? But it really is better from the Canadian side! You are much closer to the falls and have a better view. The landscaping is also nice and there's a path that runs all the way along the river. If you go, make sure you have your passport! We wanted to walk from the Canadian side to the US side, so we were able to do that by crossing the "Rainbow Bridge". The sign made us laugh, but you really do walk up stairs and enter the US. It was easy to get into the US and we walked around a bit before heading back toward Canada. There was a huge line to enter Canada and we stood waiting for almost an hour to reenter! We got on the last train out of Niagara back to Toronto with everyone else who had made the day trip. The train was so crowded and still bumpy on the way back. It was not our most enjoyable train trip of the summer.
When we made it back to Toronto, Brennan directed us to a pub with award winning chicken wings. He was thrilled to try their signature sauce and ended up buying some to take with him. The man loves hot sauce! I'm glad we were able to fit in seeing Niagara Falls to our trip, but Brennan and I agreed that we wouldn't make a special trip to see it. We felt like it was a "one and done" kind of location. Hopefully we're able to see a lot more and continue to add to our list of things we have seen all year long!

Again, great pics. I feel the same as you regarding the falls. They’re very pretty and once is enough. ❤️💞

Great pictures again. The pictures from the Canadian side reminded me of the trip we took years ago, I had forgotten how pretty it was from that side. Thank you for sharing those pictures.
